UAAP Cheerdance Competition (Competition Review)
Let’s do some Recap on the said Competition.
(Review according of appearance.)
ADAMSON PEP SQUAD: That Last “Pom-Pom” Routine was the cleanest in the entire performance. Stunt Wise, they Improved. Synchronization? FAIL! i don’t know but it looks random and seems like everyone’s busy on the court that it turned out to be a little messy. Still, they did their Routines Fairly.
ADMU BLUE BABBLE BATALLION: They were Plain & Simple with their “Hindi” inspired performance. They delivered their Performance well. Not much surprises or “gimik” but they did performed well.
NATIONAL U Pep Squad: OMG! I didn’t expect them to IMPROVED A LOT! Definitely Henry Sy put a good money out of them! Kitang-Kita sa NU this year! That “Matador” inspired theme attracts & gained attention too. They did well. though some pyramids are recycled, still they delivered it good.
DLSU ANIMO PEP SQUAD: Their tosses are in Synch! Clean Execution. The “Warrior” theme part was short (maybe i was just expecting to see more of the theme) and they did better than their feat last year. Between the Blue & Green, GREEN did Better.
UP PEP SQUAD: UP Pep Squad has been and always been the “STANDARD”. THE FIERCE ONE & THE MOST UNIQUE as they all go “Blonde” this year. The “Madonna” inspired performance was unexpected (it was awesome idea). High Tosses & Flexible Cheerdancers. LAHAT NA EH! Level of Difficulty: Difficult! Stunts: Difficult but Stable! Routine: SO CLEAN & SO SYNCHRONIZE. They were SOLID! Hands Down!! “BREATHTAKING”!!!
FEU Cheering Squad: FEU was equally awesome. “CLEAN” stunts. The “Bollywood” inspired theme (correct me if i’m wrong) also came short for i want to see more on that climax. their passes were so Bionic (especially the last guy who did the full twist! mamaw sa galing! haha) Stunts are really commendable! as they say, “Buwis Buhay” ang cheerdancers nila Stunt Wise. Nice Job FEU Cheering Squad! Definitely & as always, a Strong Contender to really watch out for every season.
UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe: All throughout the performance, it was CLEAN & SYNCH also. Floor Routines are Clean & Visible. They dedicated their performance in commemoration of their Quadri-Centennial Year and i guess they did Justice in doing so. Nice Performance from UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe. Magaling! :)
UE Pep Squad: same with DLSU, they came up with a “Warrior” inspired theme.
There’s also this new segment in the said competition where Schools have to showcase and perform a Stunt Routine which was participated by ADMU, NU, UE, UP & FEU.
GROUP STUNTS COMPETITION TOP 3:
- UP - Champion
- FEU - 1st Runner-Up
- NU - 2nd Runner-Up
SAMSUNG STUNNER: Nesza Salvador - UP PEP SQUAD (who also happened to be a former Cheerleading Captain of SSA Pep Squad which i was a part of up to 2005.)
UAAP 2011 CHEERDANCE COMPETITION RESULTS:
- UP PEP SQUAD - CHAMPION (Their Back to Back Championship!)
- DLSU ANIMO Pep Squad - 1st Runner-Up (from 4th place Last Year)
- FEU Cheering Squad - 2nd Runner-Up (from 1st Runner-Up Last Year)
and the rest are ranked as follow:
- 4th: UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe
- 5th: Adamson Pep Squad
- 6th: National U Pep Squad
- 7th: ADMU Blue Babble Batallion
- 8th: UE Pep Squad
It was a Sweep Victory for UP Pep Squad for they win all of the Top Awards in this Season’s Cheerdance Competition. The UP Maroons were only able to win 2 out of 14 games in Season 74.
It was a redemption of sorts for UP, which again ended dead last in the UAAP men’s basketball.
